Get Away Trip

Hello!

In my last post I mentioned a little vacay that I have been planning for. It is just a quick get away for Independence Day! We are heading out the morning of July 4th to Chicago and return on the 7th. I can't wait. I.LOVE.CHICAGO! Wait, let me say that again.. I. LOOOOOOOVE.CHICAGO! I have since the first time I ever visited.  It also helps that "Wifey" is located there, as well! In case you don't remember Wifey, she was a PIC (partner in crime) for the baby shower post you can find here. But here is another picture to remind you (I hope she doesn't care)!

Gah! She is so beautiful I could post a milllllion more pictures of her! But, here is one more of us!

This was in 2008 and this is us, TO.A.T. - no dogging this pic! :)
Okay I lied -

And this was 2007!

Anyways, I can't wait to see her. The man hasn't been to Chicago in a LONG time, so I am excited that he is coming, too.

I am such a freak about trips. It is a little 3 day trip to a location that is 5 hours (driving) away, but I have been making lists for about a month now, trying to figure out what to pack, and purchasing things 'for the trip' (yeah, right, I probably won't even pack any of it)!

I have some high expectations for this trip (which HOPEFULLY I can elaborate on AS SOON as we return)!

On that note, off to make more lists and find more to pack!

Dinner with History...

Hello. I have been so busy lately getting ready for our mini vacay! More on that to come... stay tuned!

I went to dinner with some friends, and their friends. I didn't know everyone so we were all asking questions and just being girls. Ya' know - girl talk. One of the girls asked me "If you could have dinner with anyone in history who would you pick?" Well, that is the easiest question... EVER! I have always had the same answer, and I probably will always have the same answer. Audrey Hepburn, hands down.

What a complete, total beauty... inside and out!

"The most important thing is to enjoy your life - to be happy - it's all that matters."

So, simply stated.

"I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles."

This is my motto for life - this woman is amazing!

"Pick the day. Enjoy it - to the hilt. The day as it comes. People as they come... The past, I think, has helped me appreciate the present - and I don't want to spoil any of it by fretting about the future."

Uh-may-zing.

Who would you have dinner with?

Beautiful day!

Hey! Today was so beautiful, the weather was amazing. I could not sit still at work! Gah! Work! Work was kind of crazy this week... well, yesterday, but still it was crazy. I am so glad that tomorrow is Friday and it is supposed to be 90 degrees this weekend! I just hope that the rain stays away and maybe I can get some color before my trip to Chicago!

And while we are discussing Chicago.. haha! I.CAN'T.WAIT! We are leaving here the morning of July 4th and getting back on the night of the 7th. I can't wait to be back in Chicago! Also, it just so happens one of my best friends (Wifey) lives there! So, I get to see her, and my niece and her boyfriend live about 40 minutes away from Chicago and they are going to come see us! I already can't wait to show you pictures when I get back!

I did some minor shopping and can't wait to share with you what great finds I found! :) But, I am waiting for one item and I get that tomorrow... so, soon my pretties! But I swear, it is so hard to not show what I have here already!!!

Well, I just ordered Jimmy John's and it is already here... So, that is all for now!

Grad Party! (Weekend Recap)

This was such a fun weekend! On Friday I went back to my parents house to help them with my little brother's graduation open house! Landon will be heading off to Ferris State University in August. He is going there on scholarship to play football! (That is the craziest sentence I have ever written! He can't be in college!!!!!!!) Since he is a football fanatic we did a Tailgate theme...Here are a ton of pictures of the decor! My mom is so good at party planning!
This was the walkway to the party - in the backyard. That is not caution tape - it actually says "Tailgate Zone" and the long white thing the back ground is one of those "fly guys" when you plug it in the fans make the guy stand up and wave around with the wind... she thought of everything!
My parents have such a beautiful back yard!
Mom made this game - you throw a football through the squares. Depending on the square you could be an amateur, high school level, collegiate or pro! There was also cornhole, a washer game (not the technical name), and ladder toss! The little tykes had a blast!
Is this not the coolest display for a beverage station!? (please excuse the lids, I took pictures before everyone came)
The food station. There was mini hot dogs, mini cheese burgers, build a potato, coleslaw, chips, cupcakes... so much food!
The tent decor and picture display. Is that not the coolest table runner, EVER!? Outdoor carpet with lines and number stencils! The football lanterns went all the way around the tent.
Of course I had to take some selfies!

It was such a fun weekend. I love seeing family, especially ones that I don't get to see that often! I hope that everyone had a great weekend!

Amazing day!

Hello! This is my first time blogging from my phone, so please forgive me if this post is a little funky!
So, yesterday was terrible. I woke up late, my hair looked like crap. I threw on a maxi dress, cardigan, earrings, started to brush my teeth in the bathroom and walked and finished in the kitchen....as if those few steps would save me time? Who knows!? And I put make up on in the car...
Sitting at the first stop light (because, obviously I hit every.single.one.) I realized that my dress was navy blue and I was wearing a black sweater...ugh...I thought the dress was black when I wore it to work last time so maybe I can pull it off in the lighting at work...
As soon as I walked in the revolving door at work our sweet receptionist told me that I looked pretty today! I smiled and said thanks! But all that ran through my head was ...Oh, sure I could walk in with poop on my face and in my pajamas and she would say I looked pretty, she is too sweet...
Later as I ran through the halls - so as few people as possible would see my outfit - another kind lady stopped me and said that they loved my dress... so I smiled and said thank you. As soon as I got back to my desk I texted my boyfriend and told him I had been complimented twice... because he obviously got a text from me whining about how much my outfit sucked.
I ran to the warehouse on the other side of the building quickly and a guy in the warehouse said I looked nice...and the guy next to him agreed! I smiled and said thank you!
Maybe I really need to be a little less hard on myself! Either way, the compliments felt great and when I got home all I could think about was what I was going to put together to wear today. Something that took some effort. So, I picked out some things and tried them on and with the help from Ja'Maia, settled on red pants, black and white polka dot tank, and a black blazer with white piping and black patent leather peep toe booties. Oh, jewelry of course!
Everyone and their momma liked my outfit today. People were talking about my red pants all day! Talk about a confidence booster!
Also, this week I have been stressing about one thing in particular ans tomorrow was "d-day" and I was dreading it... until 2:00 pm..I got a call from the boyfriend with AMAZING news. My day was made and nothing could bring me down... and still can't!
