Fall fashion - Bottoms Up!

Hey you! Today I want to talk about bottoms for the fall! Fall, to me, is a transition season. You can't go from wearing shorts, tanks and flip flops to hoodies, fur lined coats, lined jeans and insulated boots!  Fall is my favorite season for clothing, though. In the beginning you can wear your summer clothes to help the transition and at the end of fall you can wear winter clothes with lighter pieces. It is amazeballs!

No. 1 - The black legging
If this is not a staple in your wardrobe already - I advise you to stop reading and go buy some! They are great for anytime but PERFECT for fall! I am going to find a pair of leathery looking black leggings. These ones from top shop are awesome! And I might have to pick up these tuxedo ones from Kardashian Kollection at Sears!

No. 2 - Dark denim
Denim is a staple for every fall wardrobe! Dark denim, especially. Express has some great jeans, I love these boyfriend ones! How cute with some booties? The bootcut jeans are cute and perfect for fall pumps and the skinny jeans are perfect for my favorite... boots!!

No. 3 - The black pant
These are really a year long staple for your wardrobe, but even more so for work - in the fall! Here are some of my favorites!

Tomorrow I will be talking about dresses and skirts for the fall! I can't wait - there is nothing I love more than a warm and cozy dress!

Fall Fashion - Top It Off

Hello! I can't express how ECSTATIC I am that fall is right around the corner. I LOVE summer, but fall holds a special place in my heart.. mostly for these reasons:

I.LOVE.FOOTBALL!!

and I.LOVE.LAYERS! I can't wait to pull out all of my fall clothes!

I have complied a list of fall fashion staples to take with me when I FINALLY go shopping! Today, I want to cover tops for fall weather.

No. 1 - Plain white tee
I know most people already have these in their wardrobe, and I have a long sleeve and short sleeve, but i am looking for something different, like this one from Express

This one from JcPenney is cute with the subtle sequins. And this one from JcPenney, as well:

No. 2 - Skin toned camisole
These are perfect to go under your plain white tee, or anything white for that matter, and they come in just about any skin tone.
Spanx Trust Your Thinstincts Camisole - Nude M Assets By Sara Blakely Chic Peek Camisole, L, Nude, 1 ea
                      Dillards                                    drugstore.com

No. 3 - Black Cardigan
This is such an important piece for fall, as it is so versitle. You can dress it up with black pants, a burnt orange undershirt, pumps and a statement necklace or down with dark denim, white tee and converse with basic jewelry.
This one from express is so gorgeous! This leather front one from J.Crew is to.die.for!!!

 Collection leather-front merino cardigan

No. 4 - Classic white blouse
When I went to college I was told to make sure I had a crisp white blouse in my wardrobe - I didn't think I would actually use it - but I am so glad I had one. You can dress them up or down, they are an easy staple piece to make yourself look pulled together for an interview when you may have had too much fun on 'Thirsty Thursday' the night before. Now that I am in the working world - I don't think you could ever have TOO many white blouses! There are so many styles that you could wear a white blouse everyday for what seems like months and not repeat a style! This one from Express has my heart!
Drapey crepe henley tunic Swiss dot tuxedo shirt
J.Crew                                             J. Crew

No. 5 - Solid sweaters
These are definite must! Color options are endless - go with what looks good on your skin! Most people like a piece that pops, but with a solid sweater the color alone can make it pop, you can throw a leopard collared shirt underneath for a smaller pop, a white one to make the sweater color pop more, or wear with just a cami underneath. Literally, I will spend the majority of my fall shopping budget on solid sweaters: lightweight and heavy knit that can transform into winter attire.

Women's Drop-Shoulder V-Neck Sweaters

Well, that is it for part one of Fall Fashion must haves - check back for tomorrow's post on another fall must have... bottoms!!

Happy Sunday, Funday!

Happy Sunday, ya'll!

I hope that you have had an amazing weekend! I know that I sure did!!

Friday when I got out of work we went and got Ja'Maia so she could hang out with us all weekend. We busted out the bbq grill and had some brats with sour kraut.. Yumm-O!

Saturday morning Babe had to work so Ja'Maia and I hung out and cleaned up the house. When he got out of work we went to the store to grab some hot dogs, buns, condiments, chips and drinks and we headed down to the boat launch to bbq it up and fish. We have a pretty nice boat launch a couple miles from our house. It is so relaxing to go there and just relax. Here are some pictures from Saturday:
Babe getting the coals nice and hot. They have covered places with picnic tables, but we had Maia's chalk and some chairs with us so we just sat at the chairs and ate, and Maia loved being able to draw with her chalk.

This is the Zilwaukee bridge/our view.

Mowing down on some of the BIGGEST hot dogs I have EVER seen! She wanted 2 to start with, but she realized after half of her 1st one that she was NOT going to be able to finish the other one.

The chef getting his plate ready!

She wanted a picture with the tug boat in the backgroud

Ja'Maia showing off the fact that she can go from standing, to sitting, to standing while keeping the Hula Hoop going... I can't even do it standing still!
This is a little video of our relaxation spot

Today Babe is at work so Maia and I are outside playing and enjoying this beautiful summer day!

Philippians 4:13

Well, it is a little late, but Landon is officially a college student. He is all moved in to his dorm and he has started football practice!

How can my little brother be a college student!? AH! Time sure does fly!

We went to dinner the Sunday before he left us all. My mom, dad, Landon, Grandma and Grandpa Ullom, Uncle Marc and Aubrie and myself. It was such a good time. I made Landon a football cross out of a football and had a plaque engraved with Philippians 4:13.
It isn't perfect, but I am pretty proud. Here it is hanging in his dorm.

Here are some pictures of our dinner/outing.

Here is Landon, Aubrie and myself
We could not be normal for too long... this is more our personalities!
Landon and I saying goodbye!

Aubrie is so funny. She loves her some Landon.

The oldest and youngest granddaughters!

It was good to spend some time with Landon before he leaves and to see my amazing family.

Landon's football coach tweeted this picture of them after their 1st practice with pads. He is #17 on the right in the yellow jersey holding the football. (#17 is his practice number, #19 is his game number)

And here he is all offcial on the FSU website. Go check out his HS stats and his bio

I love Summer!

I. LOVE. SUMMER.

Hands down.

Well, except for the mosquitoes, I.LOVE.SUMMER!

I have had such a fun summer, I almost don't want it to end.  We have had trips, vacations, bon fires, bbq's, beach time. I have just enjoyed myself.

This is our latest little family bbq. We had to fix the petal on Ja'Maia's bike and to test it out daddy took it for a spin - Maia wasn't having that.

I have also spent quite a bit of time this summer taking care of Ja'Maia's hair. I have never played with coarse, natural hair before, so this summer it was my goal to experiment to get better.
This is the back

and the front before and after. (Isn't her face in the before gorgeous?)

Then she HAD to have curls!
Then we decided that was enough heat damage for the summer and now we are working on no heat hairstyles. This was her 1st twist out (mine, too!). Not so shabby, if you ask me!

Another favorite part of summer....

Old Town Drive In's root beer - I don't even like root beer, but this with some vanilla ice cream - bomb.com!

Chi Town!

Hello! It has been ENTIRELY too long, and I have quite a bit of news and such to share, but not to overwhelm, I will begin where I left off!

Our trip to Chicago was amazing! I had the best time ever! The boy LOVED it! Here are some pictures of our trip!
Just me on the riverwalk underneath of our hotel

My babe and his bottle of bling h2o

This was super cool - it was made out of boats

Navy Pier... it has my heart

An awesome friend sent up a bottle of wine and this cheese and cracker platter for us to enjoy during the fireworks... which we could see sitting in that chair in the background.
This is the view of the fireworks from our room!

One view from our window

My wifey! Shes so gorgeous!

Babe and his dream car

Doesn't babe look supa fly with that fedora?

That is about 1/3 of the Trump in the background

Us on the first day - walking Michigan Ave

Babe is in LOVE with music. He heard these bucket drummers from about 5 miles away, I swear!

At night - this was us. We don't club much, so we sat by the river at night and people watched and enjoyed the views.

Babe's 1st elevator pic!

BEST PIZZA EVER.... Lou Malnatis! YUMMMM-O!

Babe inspecting all the buildings - this is the home the Langham Hotel

We did a lot of looking up this trip

Babe being all fly and stuff.
All week we saw people walking across the bridge by our hotel in white lab coats - they were coming out of the church (the white circular building on the right). We were so curious as to what they were doing, but never got the guts to ask - until the last day. They were filming a movie! How cool! I wish I would have thought to ask which one!

Our trip was amazing! I loved seeing Wifey!!!! I have a feeling we will be going back this fall... no complaints from me!
